Marcus Brauchli is chairman of Ridgely|Walsh. He was previously executive editor of the Washington Post from September 2008 to December 2012 and before that was the top editor at The Wall Street Journal, where he spent 24 years as a correspondent and editor in Asia, Europe and the U.S. Now a media investor and advisor, Marcus is the co-founder and managing partner of North Base Media, a global early-stage media VC and advisory firm. He is a graduate of Columbia University, a past Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, chairman of the Arthur Burns Fellowship, and a trustee of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. He has been a consultant to Graham Holdings, Univision, Hindustan Times and Rzeczpospolita, and is chairman of Japan-based TNL Mediagene and an advisor or director of Piano Inc., Reach Mobile, and Mexico’s Capital Digital.
